12 New Candidates for Funding Under Sofia Municipality's Donor IVF Program.

The remaining applicants will have to provide additional medical examinations or settle their outstanding obligations to Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency (NRA) and Sofia Municipality.

The decision was made by the Program Council, which includes medical specialists and municipal councilors. The council also reviewed additional documents submitted by four couples that had applied earlier this year.

Over the more than 11 years since the IVF program was established, it has helped hundreds of couples seeking to have a child. Sofia Municipality has officially received information about a total of 69 children born through the program—44 boys and 25 girls—as not all parents wish to disclose that they participated in a donor program.

The newest addition to Sofia Municipality's IVF team is Kristian, who was born on July 13 at Nadezhda Hospital under the care of Dr. Pavlova and Dr. Stamenov, the Mothers for Donation Foundation said, as quoted by Sofia Municipality's press office.
