35-Year-Old Man Dies in Crash on Sofia-Varna Highway Near Targovishte.

A 35-year-old man from the village of Belomortsi died in a road accident involving two cars on the Sofia-Varna highway, in the section between Momina Cheshma and the Rompetrol gas station at the entrance to Targovishte. The incident occurred around 21:45, and there are other injured individuals who were taken to the hospital in Targovishte.

The accident occurred at around 9:45 p. m. on the Sofia–Varna main road, between the Momina Cheshma area and the Rompetrol petrol station at the entrance to Targovishte.

According to preliminary information from the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Targovishte, the crash involved two vehicles traveling in the same direction. Authorities believe the collision most likely occurred during an overtaking maneuver.

The traffic accident was reported to the regional operations center at 9:45 p.

The driver of one of the vehicles died in the crash. According to preliminary information, the victim was from the village of Belomortsi near Omurtag. Several other people were also injured.

The injured were transported to the regional hospital in Targovishte for examination and treatment. The exact cause of the collision remains under investigation.

Despite the serious accident, traffic on the first-class Sofia–Varna road was not suspended. Traffic police officers regulated traffic until the scene examination was completed.

The Regional Road Administration said the damaged vehicles had been removed from the roadway, while both traffic lanes remained open.
