A 67-year-old woman died after being hit by a public transport bus in the center of Veliko Tarnovo. The incident occurred on a pedestrian crossing near the central market, and the woman died at the scene.
A city bus hit and killed a 67-year-old woman in Veliko Tarnovo, the BGNES news agency reported.
The tragedy unfolded in a busy part of the city, near the central market. According to initial information, the woman was crossing the road at a marked pedestrian crossing when she was struck by a passing bus.
The impact was extremely strong, and the woman died at the scene. The incident occurred shortly after 11:00 a. m. and shortly before noon the area around the central market was cordoned off by law enforcement officers.
Immediately after the report was received, police and emergency medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The arriving medics were only able to confirm the woman’s death.
The scene of the tragedy is currently isolated by teams from the Veliko Tarnovo Interior Ministry Directorate, which are carrying out the necessary investigative procedures to establish the exact causes of the fatal collision.
