Father and Child Injured After Fall From Ride in Antonovo.
A father and his 9-year-old child were injured after falling from an amusement ride in Antonovo. Both were taken to hospital in Targovishte and are not in life-threatening condition.
The incident occurred while the ride was in motion, when the metal pipe to which the victims’ two-seat chair was attached suddenly broke. The father and the child fell from a height of about 2 metres.
After the seat collapsed, emergency medical teams and firefighters immediately arrived at the scene. The facility was immediately taken out of operation and stopped working for the evening. According to local authorities, no one else was affected by the incident.
They were visiting their family for the fair days, Antonovo Mayor Hayredin Mehmedov said, confirming the case. The incident was also confirmed to BTA by Antonovo Mayor Hayredin Mehmedov and the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry in Targovishte. Fire service employees in Antonovo helped emergency medical teams transport the injured, Mihail Mihaylov, director of the Regional Fire Safety and Civil Protection Service, told BTA.
According to initial information, the injured adult is 42 years old and the child is 9. The father and son were transported and admitted for treatment to the multiprofile hospital in Targovishte. According to initial medical information, their lives are not in danger.
