Borislavov on Desi Atanasova: I Haven't Heard or Seen Her Since Her Election to the Constitutional Court.
Boyko Borislavov distanced himself from Constitutional Court judge Desislava Atanasova, who was reported to have traveled to Dubai with Delyan Peevski on a private jet. He stated he has not heard or seen her since her election.
Boyko Borissov distanced himself from Constitutional Court judge Desislava Atanasova, about whom information was presented that she had travelled to Dubai with Delyan Peevski aboard a private plane.
I believe that, as a lawyer and parliamentarian, she was not accidentally elected as a constitutional judge by such a large majority. A constitutional judge, a president, a vice president — when they are nominated by a party, on the day they take the oath, they no longer have anything to do with that party, Borissov said.
In response to a question about the constitutional judge, he stressed that he had been responsible for her while she was part of GERB and that at that time she had performed her duties impeccably.
According to him, the case involving Desislava Atanasova is an attempt to shift the focus away from the budget. Borissov said the issue is being used to divert attention from the budget and from the upcoming EU Council, where decisions on sanctions against Russia are expected to be made.
The matter concerns what GERB describes as discrepancies in the data on Delyan Peevski’s flights, including those involving Atanasova. According to the GERB leader, there are discrepancies in the publicly disclosed information.
The GERB leader made the comment during a meeting with young party members in Sliven.
