Suspicions of poor manufacturing practices are being investigated, leading to delayed exports of products.

An internal audit unit at the Ministry of Health found that Bul Bio has unrealized exports worth nearly BGN 1.5 million due to delayed deliveries from UNICEF, Indonesia, Afghanistan, and Vietnam, with the products currently in storage. The World Health Organization is also conducting inspections of Bul Bio laboratories. Official information indicates that WHO has issued findings, and progress reports on their implementation are expected from the company.

The internal audit unit also found that the company’s internal rules do not regulate how payments are prioritized and how liabilities are managed.

Health Minister Katya Ivkova stated that additional inspections of Bul Bio have been ordered and signals have been sent to the relevant authorities. But we cannot confirm this at the moment, because we want it to be verified, she added. According to her, suspicions of poor manufacturing practices lead to clients refusing to purchase products, suggesting concerns about the conditions in the laboratories, which is precisely what needs to be examined.
