The Bachelor: Mars and Venus – Sixth Season with a Female Lead.

The most-watched romantic reality show on Bulgarian television is about to undergo an unprecedented change. The upcoming sixth season of the show will introduce an entirely new concept under the title The Bachelor: Mars and Venus.

For the first time in the history of the format in Bulgaria, a woman will also be placed in the leading role alongside a man. This will turn the show into a hybrid between the classic format and its female-led version, known globally as The Bachelorette.

The new format will feature two completely independent storylines airing in parallel. The traditional Bachelor will look for his partner among around twenty female contestants competing for his heart, while the selected Bachelorette will choose a future husband from roughly the same number of male suitors.

The two main participants will have separate areas and mansions for their individual and group dates. Since the stories are combined into one show, they will meet periodically to discuss the contestants’ behaviour and exchange advice — an approach already tested in previous seasons.

The concept for these meetings is still being refined, as the format is in the final stage of development. The production is already holding castings and actively looking for locations.

According to Weekend, filming for the new season will most likely not take place in distant Sri Lanka, as it did over the past two years.
