Five Students from Varna's Dr. Petar Beron High School in National Team for EGEO 2026.

The prestigious competition will be held in Varna from June 28 to July 2 with financial support from Varna Municipality and the Ministry of Education and Science.

Bulgaria’s team consists of 11 students – four in the younger age group and seven in the older one. EGEO 2026 features teams from 13 countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Cyprus, Lithuania, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, Czechia and Switzerland. More than 100 students in two age groups – junior up to 16 years old and senior up to 19 years old – will test their geographical skills and knowledge in three competition rounds, conducted entirely in English, the official language of the tournament. The forum opens today at the Cherno More Hotel and continues until July 2.

The first competition day includes a written exam with case studies and questions from various areas of geographical knowledge. The second day is dedicated to fieldwork in an area unknown to the participants, where they will demonstrate cartographic skills, practical knowledge and observation. The third round is a multimedia test with questions accompanied by visual materials such as photographs, charts and tables.
