Four Bulgarian Cities Submit Bids to Host Eurovision 2027.

The four Bulgarian cities that expressed interest in hosting Eurovision 2027 have submitted their bids. Burgas, Varna, Plovdiv and Sofia sent their proposals to host the song contest to BNT today, ahead of the 17:00 deadline.

As a public broadcaster, a member of the EBU and the host broadcaster of Eurovision 2027, BNT has the leading role in preparing and organizing the contest in partnership with the EBU. The procedure for selecting the host city was opened in June, after BNT held an information meeting with representatives of the four municipalities.

With the official submission of the documents, the competition for host city is entering a key phase. The committees will begin a detailed assessment of the submitted bids, reviewing infrastructure, accommodation capacity and the ability to host an event of such high rank. The host city will be announced by the end of July.

Eurovision 2027 is expected to attract thousands of visitors, representatives of international media and millions of television viewers from across Europe and beyond, providing a significant opportunity for international visibility and promotion of Bulgaria. The public broadcaster secured Bulgaria’s participation in Eurovision 2026, where the country achieved a historic victory and earned the right to host the next edition.

All eyes are now on the evaluation committee, which will determine which candidate has the best conditions to stage the large-scale show.
