Ivan Demerdzhiev in Sharp Clash with Borisov and Peevski, Checks Atanasova's Travels.
Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev announced a probe into data on Desislava Atanasova's travels and the hundreds of flights of Delyan Peevski, focusing on funding rather than passengers. He clashed with Boyko Borisov over guardrail companies.
This week, Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev entered into a sharp clash with two party leaders. First, he said that, in his view, Boyko Borissov is behind the two companies that manufacture, supply and install guardrails on roads across the country.
The Interior Ministry’s Internal Security Directorate is checking whether data on Desislava Atanasova’s travels were distorted in the ministry’s information systems.
In an interview with BNT, Ivan Demerdzhiev commented on the discrepancy between the information he presented from the parliamentary rostrum and the document shown by Desislava Atanasova. The minister explained that the contradiction is due to the data coming from different Interior Ministry information systems.
He urged Atanasova to be more precise when presenting facts and circumstances, adding that the Interior Ministry would be as precise as possible and would fully disclose all the facts, since this is so important to Mr. According to him, everyone will be able to draw their own conclusions.
Demerdzhiev said a full inspection is being carried out, with the focus regarding Delyan Peevski’s hundreds of flights not being on who travelled with him. The main emphasis is on how the trips were financed, rather than on which individuals flew with him.
Ivan Demerdzhiev said Peevski himself had stated that the funds belonged to his family, and that this claim would also be checked.
