Mayor Kotsev Inspects Waste Management Base in Varna, Four New Trucks to Join Schedule.
Mayor Blagomir Kotsev inspected the technical base of ZMBG EAD in Varna. Four new trucks will be added to the waste collection schedule, and the company has dispatched employees from Sofia.
He spoke with employees on site and inspected the equipment used for waste collection and transportation in the city, the municipal administration said.
During the inspection, it became clear that four new trucks will be added to the schedule to service the automated NORD-type system.
The additional equipment will support operations during the busiest summer season both in Varna and in the nearby resort complexes. Company representatives assured that the remaining 12 specialized vehicles operating under the NORD system are also in good technical condition and are currently working in the field.
According to the information provided, there are no compactor trucks undergoing repairs or removed from the operational schedule. ZMBG EAD has sent employees from Sofia to assist the teams in Varna and share their experience in organizing waste collection in the capital.
Company representatives identified the improper disposal of waste by commercial establishments as one of the most serious problems. Such waste fills the containers shortly after they have been serviced.
They reminded that the containers are intended for household waste, while shops and restaurants are required to have contracts for the disposal of packaging and mixed waste generated by their activities.
The company said that, if necessary, an additional employee could join container service teams to clean waste accumulated outside the containers.
