Kostadinov: We Demand a Hearing in the Plenary Hall on the KUB Group.

The parliamentary group of Vazrazhdane has submitted a request to the Speaker of the National Assembly for a plenary hearing involving former State Agency for National Security (SANS) Chairman Denyo Denev, former Varna Territorial Directorate Director Kiril Dimov, and former Director of SANS' Financial Security Directorate Nedyalko Petkov as part of parliamentary oversight.

During a hearing before the Parliamentary Committee for Control of the Security Services, according to its chairman Rumen Milanov, former SANS Chairman Denyo Denev said he could not remember why he had revoked the expulsion order against Oleg Nevzorov just 10 days after issuing it.

The request concerns the activities of the Ukrainian group KUB and its owner, Oleg Nevzorov, who had reportedly been investigated as a threat to Bulgaria's national security. It also concerns the expulsion order issued against him over suspected money laundering, its subsequent cancellation without stated reasons, and the alleged involvement of the Ukrainian ambassador in the decision.

The lawmakers argue that, given the significant public interest and the involvement of senior officials and politicians, the three former security officials should be heard in the National Assembly because they are the individuals most familiar with the case.

According to Vazrazhdane, it is essential that all members of parliament—not only those serving on the parliamentary committee—have access to the available information, as the case concerns Bulgaria's national security.

The request also cites a recent media interview in which former Varna Territorial Directorate Director Kiril Dimov said that the first information about alleged unauthorized activities by the KUB organization had been received by his directorate. According to the lawmakers, the directorate had investigated the group over suspected money laundering involving tens of millions of euros.

The request was submitted by Vazrazhdane leader Kostadin Kostadinov, the party's parliamentary group, and Members of Parliament Kosta Stoyanov and Petar Petrov, who also serves as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
