Krasimira Bozhkova Receives Dismissal Order, Will Appeal

Krasimira Bozhkova has received an order for her dismissal, she announced at a press conference at the BTA National Press Club in the coastal city.

Bozhkova clarified that the order was issued on Friday and sent to her through the secure electronic delivery system. In response to a question, she said she would appeal the order, arguing that there is a difference between what the Disciplinary Council examined and what is written in the dismissal order.

According to Bozhkova, the grounds for her dismissal, as far as she has reviewed the order, are insufficient control over the Baba Alino case and a missed deadline for responding to a letter from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.

This is also somewhat oddly phrased, because it concerns a letter related to the land plots, not the buildings on those land plots, she explained.

She said she had responded to the letter within the one-month deadline, but the executive director claimed that the document had not been uploaded and that he was not familiar with the opinion, even though it had been registered in the agency’s records office.

This dismissal order was issued despite the opinion of the Disciplinary Council at the AGCC that there was no way to refuse the registration of these buildings, because there is also established case law, Bozhkova said.

She added that she would seek her rights through the proper legal channels, including over a statement by Minister Ivan Shishkov. According to her, when he visited Baba Alino for an inspection, he said she was solely responsible for the case.
