Man Detained With Cocaine and Nitrous Oxide Near Sozopol Club.

A man with a criminal record was detained with drugs and a large quantity of nitrous oxide near a night club in the seaside town, the press office of the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry said. The police check was carried out at around 2:50 a. m. in the immediate vicinity of Callisto night club. Officers stopped a 37-year-old convicted man from the village of Ivaylo in Pazardzhik Region.

During a search of the car used by the man, parked near the venue, officers found and seized 1,460 nitrous oxide canisters and nearly 300 balloons, with a total value of around 15,000 euros. The packets of cocaine found during the personal search of the 37-year-old man weighed around 30 grams and are valued at around 3,200 euros, police said.

The man with a criminal record was detained for up to 24 hours. Fast-track proceedings have been launched in the case. Checks on the sale and use of nitrous oxide will continue throughout the season in all resort areas along the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast, relying on the element of surprise and previously obtained information, the Burgas Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry said.
