Missing businessman from Pavlikeni returns home

Dimitar Georgiev, the manager of a bakery in Pavlikeni, has returned home safe and well. He arrived at his home on his own at around 10:50 p. m. last night, Bulgarian National Television reported, citing official confirmation from the police. According to Bulgarian National Radio, neighbors witnessed his return.

Georgiev had been missing since Wednesday, July 8. The missing person report was filed on July 9, and the last known trace of him reportedly led toward a forest.

The following day, more than 100 volunteers joined police officers in the search operation. Thermal cameras, drones and other specialized equipment were used during the search.

The large-scale operation continued for nearly a week and involved police officers, the Gendarmerie, divers, volunteers and other specialized teams.

After six days missing, the 54-year-old businessman returned home on his own. Police confirmed that he was found safe.

It remains unclear whether Georgiev will face any legal consequences over the significant resources spent by the Ministry of Interior during the search. Investigators have not yet provided official information about where he spent the time while he was missing.
