Nikola Tsolov Claims Fourth Formula 2 Win of the Season.
Nikola Tsolov of Campos Racing won the race in Austria, claiming his fourth victory of the Formula 2 season.
The Bulgarian started the race well and successfully held his position into the first corner. In the third corner, however, Nikola Tsolov’s car was hit by Joshua Duerksen’s, causing the Bulgarian driver to spin. The incident turned into a multi-car collision and immediately brought out a yellow flag. In the fight for position between Tsolov and Minì, the Bulgarian’s front wing was damaged.
On lap 8, Tsolov came in for a tyre change. On lap 13, there was contact between Tsolov and Alex Dunne, with the Bulgarian’s car suffering damage. At that point, however, Maini already had a three-second lead, which proved impossible to close in the remaining time. Two laps before the chequered flag, the Bulgarian made another successful move and also passed León. After the finish, Tsolov remained in ninth place and without points before the official decisions of race control, while his rival Gabriele Minì scored four points and increased his lead at the top of the standings to a total of ten points.
