Prime Minister Rumen Radev held a meeting with representatives of FC Barcelona, organized by a German association. Discussions focused on cooperation in youth football and the possibility of a friendly match.

Prime Minister Rumen Radev Meets with Barcelona Delegation.

The meeting was organized by the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade.

The meeting was also attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Encho Kiryazov, Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation Ivan Vassilev, and Deputy Interior Minister Kaloyan Miltenov.

Representatives of FC Barcelona expressed their willingness to cooperate with Bulgaria in the development of youth football through the exchange of expertise, best practices, and training methodologies. They also offered support in building a sustainable system for identifying, developing, and training talented young players.

Prime Minister Radev said the government supports the development of youth sports and the construction of modern sports infrastructure. He added that sport, education, and an active lifestyle should create more opportunities for young people.

Radev also praised the success of Spain's youth football system, noting that the achievements of the Spanish national team reflect the quality of its football academies. He pointed out that Spain reached the semifinals of the World Cup and that eight players in the national squad represent FC Barcelona.

The meeting also included discussions on the possibility of organizing a friendly match between FC Barcelona's first team and the Bulgarian national football team.
