PM Rumen Radev Discusses Strengthening Educational Cooperation with German Representatives.

Bulgaria is working to strengthen cooperation in education as a key factor for building a higher value-added economy and increasing competitiveness. This was highlighted by Prime Minister Rumen Radev during a meeting with representatives of German research institutes and publishing houses, the government information service reported.

The meeting was held at the initiative of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade, which is presenting opportunities in Bulgaria for further deepening bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, investment, innovation, science and research, education, and sports.

The participants discussed opportunities for partnerships between German and Bulgarian universities, as well as scientific research organizations, aimed at technology exchange, innovation development, workforce training, and the practical implementation of scientific achievements.

Special attention was paid to the potential for cooperation in adopting modern production technologies, robotics, artificial intelligence for industrial applications, and sustainable manufacturing.

The prime minister said Germany is Bulgaria’s leading economic partner and added that developing human capital is among the main prerequisites for sustainable economic growth. He emphasized the need to build modern scientific and research infrastructure in Bulgaria to encourage more young people to remain in the country and pursue their professional careers there.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation Ivan Vasilev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Acad. Nikolay Vitanov, Deputy Minister of Interior Kaloyan Miltenov, and the chairman of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

Week Rumen Radev met with the leadership of the German Federal Association for Economic Development and Foreign Trade, as well as representatives of scientific and business organizations working in the fields of high technology, artificial intelligence, energy, and smart city development.
