Rashkov Says Varna Resident Helped Oleg Nevzorov Disappear.
Boyko Rashkov said after a parliamentary hearing with the SANS chair that Oleg Nevzorov was assisted by a well-known Varna resident during his stay in Baba Alino.
During the hearing of SANS Chair Stancho Stanev in the National Assembly on the Baba Alino case, it became clear that Oleg Nevzorov had been assisted during his stay there by a well-known Varna resident. The discussion indicated that the resident in question had helped Nevzorov disappear.
Former Interior Minister Boyko Rashkov said he had not heard any indications of upcoming arrests. I was not left with the impression that he knows the operational casework in detail. More was said publicly than what we heard at the hearing itself, he said. According to him, the hearing established only that the ban order was dated July 3 and was motivated by information about illegal activity on the territory of the country, but such information was not presented. That publicly available information was not discussed during the parliamentary hearing.
Rashkov added that there are publications by Ukrainian investigative journalist Iryna Hryb from Odesa, who claims that Nevzorov carried out similar activities in Ukraine — selling the same apartments several times and thereby defrauding numerous people. According to other information in Ukraine, Nevzorov has been linked to several major construction projects, and the publications say people are deeply dissatisfied with his activities. Asked whether he meant Daniel Slavov, known by the nickname Dido Dankata, Rashkov replied that the assumption was close to the truth but refused to say more. This came after the Ukrainian man’s company had announced it would hold a press conference on the case involving the houses in the area, but canceled it at the last moment.
