According to him, there was no way to leave the condition of these road sections unchanged, and the repairs began with the clear understanding that they would create temporary difficulties, but during a period when they could be managed.
Shishkov assured that the repairs would be completed before the end of the month and wished the Black Sea coast a successful tourism season. He stressed that no major disruptions for tourists are expected in July and August.
Ivan Ivan Shishkov also delivered sharp criticism of the management of the Regional Development Ministry in 2021, when large-scale illegal construction was identified on the fourth section of the Hemus Motorway. He stated that this had been an attempt to index nearly €511 million to the detriment of the state and added that another section of the Hemus project had been referred to the prosecution service.
According to the presented data, approximately €13 million was transferred immediately after construction permits were issued, despite companies initially declaring that they were not building the project.
The regional minister commented that the difference between the caretaker government and the current cabinet is the ability to plan and implement policies over a longer-term horizon. He emphasized that planning can now be carried out for the next four years and implemented, as there is a parliamentary majority capable of influencing legislation and sector development.
