21-Year-Old Driver Caught at Over 200 km/h Near Plovdiv.

A speed of over 200 kilometers per hour by a 21-year-old driver was recorded during a specialized police operation in Plovdiv and the region, the Interior Ministry said. The main aim of the checks is to reduce the risk of serious road accidents through increased control over dangerous behavior behind the wheel. A particularly serious case was registered during the night in the central part of Plovdiv.

Police officers traveling in an unmarked vehicle noticed a car whose driver, while turning left, deliberately caused the rear of the vehicle to slide out of its trajectory. The Interior Ministry team in Plovdiv immediately followed the driver. Along the way, he committed multiple violations, and after leaving the city in the direction of Pazardzhik, he increased his speed to more than 200 kilometers per hour. While driving, the young man also carried out dangerous overtaking maneuvers in a prohibited section.

After the violations were established, the vehicle was caught up with and stopped.

The case was established during a specialized operation by officers from Traffic Police at the General Directorate National Police and the Plovdiv Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry, conducted over the past weekend. It was established that the driver was a 21-year-old man from the village of Malo Konare.
