Hundreds Protest Against the Radev Cabinet
Hundreds gathered to protest against the Radev cabinet, carrying Bulgarian and European flags. The area around the Council of Ministers is under heavy police presence.
The demonstration was announced for 6:30 p. m. , and hundreds of citizens gathered at the site carrying Bulgarian and European flags, along with representatives of civic organizations.
Metodi Lalov, a speaker at the protest, said Bulgaria would not serve Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, Prime Minister Rumen Radev is harmful to Bulgaria, while the government is incompetent, criminal and doomed. Lalov also criticized the opposition for the lack of an anti-government action, calling Radev a liar, as he said Boyko Borissov and Delyan Peevski are.
Traffic has also been closed along Dondukov and Tsar Osvoboditel boulevards in Sofia.
According to the organizers, in the month it has been in power, the party of former President Radev has managed to discredit Bulgaria before its allies, take out yet another huge loan, deceive its own supporters and weaken the government’s accountability to the National Assembly. At the same time, according to them, Radev and his people have failed to take any steps against Borissov and Peevski, to explain why Bulgaria continues to pay half a million a day to Botas, or to propose a decent state budget.
