TSMC June revenue jumps 68% year-on-year, first-half sales up 35.6%.
TSMC reported a 6.2% month-on-month and 68% year-on-year jump in June revenue, with first-half revenue reaching NT$ 2,404.48 billion, up 35.6%. The chipmaker's stock rose 1%.
The world's largest contract chipmaker reported second-quarter revenue that rose 36% from a year earlier to a record high, driven by surging demand for artificial intelligence applications.
Revenue for the April–June period reached NT$1.27 trillion ($39.62 billion), slightly above the LSEG Smart Estimate of NT$1.264 trillion. TSMC's results are "quite robust," said Sravan Kundojjala, an analyst at Semi Analysis, noting that the chipmaker's second-quarter revenue exceeded its high-end guidance of $40.2 billion.
(TSMC) is a major supplier to companies including Nvidia and Apple. On its last earnings call in April, the company forecast second-quarter revenue of between $39 billion and $40.2 billion.
TSMC is scheduled to report its second-quarter earnings on Thursday, when it will also provide an updated outlook and details on its plans for the current quarter and the rest of the year.
Asia's most valuable publicly listed company, with a market capitalization of $1.955 trillion, did not provide further details or forward guidance in its brief revenue statement. TSMC is expected to report a 58.8% year-on-year increase in second-quarter net profit, according to an LSEG Smart Estimate.
The Taiwanese chip giant's stock rose 1%. The company reported first-half revenue of NT$2,404.48 billion in 2026, marking a 35.6% increase compared with the same period last year.
