Sharif Says U.S. -Iran Peace Deal Could Be Finalized Within 24 Hours.

Progress in the negotiations was achieved after Iran exchanged strikes with Israel and the United States this week, threatening once again to turn the Middle East into an arena of combat. Iran’s nuclear program was one of the issues on which the two sides had been unable to reach a common position. The United States and Israel feared the program could lead to the development of a nuclear weapon, while Iran insisted it was intended for peaceful purposes.

Three representatives of Middle Eastern countries said the emerging peace agreement would lead to the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the gradual removal of sanctions against Iran and the release of frozen Iranian assets. A senior U.S. official said the key terms of the peace agreement include the elimination of Tehran’s enriched uranium reserves, as well as the termination of Iran’s nuclear program.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that communication between the two countries is being carried out through special intermediaries and couriers who deliver messages between the sides. Separately, the Pakistani leader wrote: I thank the United States and Iran for their commitment to dialogue and the negotiation process. He also expressed gratitude to the countries in the region that supported efforts to find a diplomatic solution.
