Vera Todeva Leaves PP Executive Council Due to CEC Membership.

Vyara Todeva announced her official withdrawal from the Executive Council of Continue the Change (PP). According to her, her new professional responsibilities in the election administration require her to fully dedicate herself to her work and strictly comply with the legal requirements in the country.

In a social media post, she said the goal is to prevent any possible doubts about a conflict of interest or incompatibility between her party role and her state position.

Todeva said that leaving the leadership of PP is not a withdrawal from the cause, but rather an expression of respect for the principles the party has always defended: the rule of law, integrity, and high standards in public life.

I remain a member and supporter of PP, Todeva said.

She emphasized that her decision does not mean abandoning the party’s causes, but reflects her respect for the principles of the rule of law, integrity, and high standards in public life.

The Central Election Commission consists of 15 members. Vyara Todeva was nominated as a member of the commission by PP, while Alina Dobreva was nominated by Democratic Bulgaria.

Other members of the commission nominated by the governing forces include former deputy prime minister in the Oresharski government Zinaida Zlatanova, lawyers Lazarina Haralamampieva, Desislava Abrasheva, and Ivan Karchev, cybersecurity specialist Yordan Vasilev, and political scientist Stoyanka Tsvetkova.

GERB nominated three members: former MP Anna Aleksandrova and two current CEC members, Georgi Bahanov and Yordanka Gancheva, who is also the CEC secretary.

The Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) nominated former MP Tsvetan Enchev and Ismail Osman, who became deputy chairman.

Seven members, including the newly elected chair Georgi Horozov, were nominated by the parliamentary majority formation Progressive Bulgaria of Prime Minister Rumen Radev.
