Woman Dies in Serious Crash on Kotel–Mokren Road.
A woman died and four people were injured in a serious crash on road II-48 between Kotel and Mokren. One of the injured was transported by air ambulance to Burgas.
Teams from the Kotel Police Department and emergency medical services were sent to the scene.
According to initial information, a truck and a car were involved in the incident, while earlier reports also mentioned a second car. Police said the crash occurred between a truck with Romanian registration and a car with Turkish registration.
Three people were transported urgently to a hospital in Sliven, while a man in serious condition was taken by air ambulance to a medical facility in Burgas.
Police pointed to the specific cause of the tragedy. The driver of the car attempted to overtake in a curved section where the road markings prohibit this maneuver, the Interior Ministry in Sliven said.
Because of the serious incident, traffic on road II-48 at kilometer 62 remains completely restricted in both directions.
