Yellow Code for Summer Storms Across Bulgaria, Afternoon Thunderstorms and Hail.

The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) has issued a yellow warning for summer storms across Bulgaria. Today before noon, mostly sunny weather will prevail, with brief low stratus clouds in some lowland areas during the morning hours.

According to the latest NIMH forecast, today, July 2, the weather across the country will be dynamic. Despite the sunny start to the day, the afternoon hours carry a risk of dangerous weather phenomena. Before noon, low stratus clouds will be observed in places in the lowlands and will quickly disperse, but around and after noon the atmosphere will become unstable. Cumulonimbus clouds will develop, bringing rain and thunderstorms to many places. In some areas, the rainfall will be temporarily intense and significant in amount, accompanied by hail.

Cumulonimbus clouds are expected to develop, bringing short showers and thunderstorms to many parts of the country. With the arrival of a northwesterly wind, which will be light to moderate, temperatures will drop. Maximum temperatures will range between 28° and 33°, and around 28° in Sofia.

The maximum values for the day will be between 28° and 33°, while in the capital Sofia thermometers will show around 28°. The mountains will also be affected by the instability — after noon, significant cumulonimbus clouds will develop there, with frequent short showers and thunderstorms. The wind will shift from the northwest and will be light to moderate, bringing in relatively cooler air. Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will be mostly sunny.
