Yellow Heat Warning Issued for All of Bulgaria on June 29.

Maximum temperatures across the country are expected to reach up to 39°C, with the areas of Ruse, Vidin and Sandanski expected to be among the most affected. While on Sunday the yellow warning covered 14 regions, including Veliko Tarnovo and Ruse, at the start of the new week the alert will be in force for all 28 regions of the country.

According to the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, the weather will be mostly sunny and extremely hot. In the afternoon, minor cumulus clouds will develop over eastern Bulgaria and the mountains. In the eastern regions, a light to moderate east-northeasterly wind will blow. Maximum temperatures in the capital Sofia will remain around 34°C.

In the mountains, forecasters expect mostly sunny weather. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1,200 metres will be around 28°C, while at 2,000 metres it will be around 19°C. According to the forecast, temperatures in the plains will reach extreme values between 33°C and 38°C.

For today, June 28, the warning for high temperatures is already in force for 14 regions of the country. The National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology specifies that these are Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Haskovo and Yambol.

Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will be mostly sunny, with maximum temperatures between 29°C and 34°C. In the mountains, it will be sunny, with minor cumulus clouds in the afternoon. A moderate wind will blow, while along the high ridges and peaks there will be a strong northeasterly wind.
