Direct losses from forest fires in Bulgaria increase more than eightfold in 15 years.

An analysis by WWF Bulgaria shows that direct losses from forest fires have increased more than eightfold on average over the last 15 years, with nearly 38% of the total for the period 2011-2025 attributed to 2025. The main cause is the Pirin fire, which cost over 17 million leva.

Prosecution Seeks Permanent Detention for Truck Driver in Trakia Highway Crash.
